Sparkling wine specialist Scharffenberger turns its hand to Chardonnay with interesting results. Acidity is the most notable feature, higher or at least more pronounced than in most California Chards. There's also a mineral undergirding to the lemon preserves and orange zest flavors. This is one of those Chards that will likely take to aging.
