To call this wine lusty is an understatement. This old variety lost some fashion years ago, but is being rediscovered for its lush, full-bodied fruit. It has delicious black currant, cassis, licorice and mocha flavors wrapped into firm tannins. It resembles a big, darkly colored mountain-grown Syrah. The wine will age for many years.
