The distinctive varietal character of Petit Verdot, a grape that is most often used in very small amounts for blending, is nicely displayed here. Whiffs of violets and tanned leather are followed with a quite dry, astringent wine, anchored in blueberry fruit and flavors of espresso grounds, clove and dried herbs.
