Tebavio Barolo from La Morra opens with a pretty garnet color and segues to bold aromas of sweet spice, clove, ground ginger, road tar, licorice and black fruit. It's a linear and dry wine with a brooding personality and tannins as tight as nails. It doesn't have huge volume in the mouth, nor does it need it. Drink after 2012.
