This is one of Von Strasser's newer bottlings, with the grapes planted only in 2001. It is a designation to watch for its intensity, purity and longevity. Enormously focused in black currants, dark chocolate and moo shu plum sauce, it shows the hard tannins of a young Diamond Mountain Cab. The winemaker has unusually added a small percentage of Zinfandel to the blend.
