Four qualities distinguish this Barbera. It's bone dry, high in acidity, rigidly tannic and rich in cherries. By itself, it's rustic and old-fashioned. But it's the kind of wine the oldtimers drank with the cheese, meat, bread and sauce, and so should you. Like any respectable Barbera, it will age for decades, softening and sweetening without necessarily gaining complexity.
