The intensely dark color, tight aromas of black pepper and clove, deep and very ripe fruit flavors and thick tannins add up to a big, bold wine that tastes more full-bodied than its moderate alcohol would indicate. It has vivid flavors like espresso, dark chocolate and a hint of candied fruit, yet is decidedly dry. It should be best after 2018, or enjoy now with hearty meats.
