This wine has an uncertain future, hence the less-than-enthusiastic rating. On first opening, it's mute on the nose and simply earthy and dull on the palate, with a dry, dusty finish. Later on, it opened up some and showed some nice aged fruit as well, then shut down again. —J.C.
