Still rather closed, this eventually reveals aromas of cured meat, tilled earth, dark berry and a whiff of cellar floor. The firm palate offers up dark-skinned fruit, licorice and a hint of mocha alongside tightly wound tannins that for now leave a mouth-puckering finish. Give it time to open and develop. Drink 2018–2025.
