Blended with 10% Alicante Bouschet and aged for 20 months in French oak, this wine shows bright baked strawberry fruit that becomes brooding in the glass, layered with black licorice and peppered leather. Densely built, it finishes seductively smooth. || Lots of perky acidity here, to offset and balance the superripe black currant and cocoa flavors.
