This has a somewhat high-toned and mineral-driven nose, offering notes of roasted squab and pheasant, sage and mocha ice cream. Spirituous alcohol and opulent fruit are the focus of the highly extracted palate. The acidity is present but relegated to the background, while the rather supple, mouth-coating tannins provide most of the wine's structure. The new oak is subtle. Drink now and for four more years.
