Fine but gripping tannins provide a solid structure and crushed velvet texture to this wine, which is otherwise loaded with ripe dark cherry, plum and boysenberry fruit flavors. A streak of sweet hickory smoke infuses the nose and mouth, and the finish closes with a light dusting of cocoa powder flavor.
