Picking up just a tad of spice from the 2% Syrah addition, this offers aromas of freshly tanned leather, blackberry jam and mint-laced coffee. The palate is all about gripping tannins, cigar ash and tart cherry skins, proving quite extracted but certain to improve with a bit of patience and mellowing.
