Pure Petit Verdot is not an easy wine to balance. Here the cool vintage seems to have led to a disjointed wine with flavors that don't quite sync up. The grapy fruit shows a hint of residual sugar, the acids are tart and citrusy, the tannins chalky. More bottle age may help pull it all together.
