A stewy Cabernet; the nose mixes cola with Fernet Branca and never does the wine approach anything we might label charming. It's linear and tight, with narrow flavors of cranberry and cherry. Short on texture and never shows much variation. || In a shrinking domain (wines for under $10), this junior-league Malbec shows sweet, jammy aromas and legitimate berry flavors. And that alone puts it ahead of the game. The palate is basically a mish-mash of berry flavors and raw tannins, but with food, preferably hamburgers …
