It's easy to drink this Merlot now for its soft, fat flavors. Cherries, red currants, pecan pie and smoky oak are rich on the palate. There's some spice on the finish, along with a little heat from alcohol. || Strong cedar and cooked cherries alongside purple flowers and fresh tobacco characterize the nose of this wine from the expected-to-be-approved Willow Creek district. The tannins are very pronounced but not dominant, revealing sanguine flavors of iron and bloody game.
