Lavish barrel fermentation, aging in new French oak and sur lie stirring was intended to bring out a Bordeaux-style richness in this wine. But the chilly vintage intervened, yielding a wine with dominant green peppercorn aromas and flavors. Still, it's a subtle, elegant wine. Drink now.
