Lush tannins, ripe cassis, plum and espresso flavors, and nicely dry. The problem is a prickly heat throughout. Even for someone who isn't particularly bothered by high alcohol, it's hard to get past. || It's hard to imagine a Syrah more attractive than this. In addition to the wealth of raspberry and red currant flavors and the wonderfully sweet new oak, it is extremely well balanced.
