Maybe it's the name, but there does seem to be a hint of saffron in the lovely bouquet. Finesse and complexity are the stated goals of the winery, expressed beautifully here in an elegant mix of black cherry, mocha and coffee flavors. The mouthfeel, texture, and smooth finish make it a pleasure to drink.
