A blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet aged in barriques, this opens with aromas that recall perfumed berry, wild violet and a balsamic note. The dense, ripe palate doles out ripe black plum, crushed wild cherry, toast and roasted coffee bean alongside soft acidity and chewy tannins. Drink through 2016.
