A good effort in the rough-and-ready genre. Aromas are straightforward plum shot through with earthy notes. The palate shows good cherry fruit and is quite gripping, with slightly rustic tannins that carry over to the short finish. Give it a year in the cellar to smooth out, then try with hearty beef dishes.
