Initial aromas of buttered popcorn and tropical fruit fade, then reawaken as butterscotch candy. Caramelized pears are topped with lots of oaky spice on the finish. || Ripe black cherries infused with cola on the nose, but like so many N.Z. Pinots it doesn't follow through on the palate, where elements of sur-maturité war with tart, almost astringent acidity. || Mmmmm, toasty.
