Aloof and resistant, this Pinot is almost rustic. The vineyard is at the coolest “deep end” of Anderson Valley, and the chilly vintage has accentuated the acids and tannins. There's a complex core of flavor, however, suggesting cherries, pomegranates, sautéed wild mushrooms and cured meats. All indications are of ageability; give it 68 years in a proper cellar.
