The English Reynolds family arrived in the Alentejo in the 1850s to deal in cork. The vines are in the east of the region, close to Spain. This wine, named after Gloria, the mother of the current owner, is a massive, mature cathedral of a wine. It is packed with dark leather, sweet plums and a dry core that's likely to keep the wine in this finely mature state for many years. Drink now.
