The oak—a mixture of new and used French and American—takes the lead on this wine, with aromas and flavors of vanilla, cocoa and coffee out in front of plum and dark fruit. There's a pleasing mixture of richness and lightness. The variety gets a bit subsumed but there's still much to enjoy.
