You might almost think this is a Pinot Noir, it's so silky, crisply acidic and rich in raspberries, cherries, red licorice and sandalwood. That this is a nearly six-year-old Syrah is a surprise, but a pleasant one. It would not have been possible for this wine to taste this young if it weren't from a cool-climate appellation. Shows the potential of Santa Maria Valley Syrah capable of aging.
