Blue flower, underbrush, tobacco leaf, leather and mature black fruit aromas lead the nose on the structured but polished Taurasi from Fratelli Urciuolo. The balanced palate doles out juicy black cherry, black plum, black pepper and thyme alongside fresh acidity and a solid tannic backbone. Give it time to develop additional complexity; drink after 2020.
