A textbook illustration of Stags Leap Cabernet. The “velvet glove” is the elaborately ripe, sweet blackberry, cherry and chocolate fruit. The “iron fist” is the tannin structure, so finely woven you hardly notice it, but there it is, offering a coat of astringency and protecting the wine over the next decade.
