A blend of 60% Sangiovese and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, this has aromas of leafy underbrush, bell pepper, dried herb and black currant. The palate is rather austere, offering dried cherry, leather, licorice and powdered sage alongside tightly wound, grainy tannins that grip the finish. Let the tannins unwind for another year or two, then drink up to catch the remaining fruit.
