If your impression of South America Malbec has been shaped by Argentina, then this Chilean example will be appealing. It's ripe and dense, with blackberry and animal hide aromas. The palate is rock solid in feel, with concentrated flavors of blackberry, cassis, cumin, pepper and chocolate. This gets oakier, darker and more compact on the finish.
