The current releases from Scarborough show a winemaker dedicated to obtaining excellent fruit and experimenting with an interesting range of barrel sizes and sources. Here it all works well, a Southern Rhône-style mix of Grenache, Mourvèdre, Counoise and Cinsault with a flinty, mineral base note. There's a sweet-tart cherry core and a lick of peppery spice that livens up the finish.
