A pure varietal Roussanne, the 2007 La Vie Douce is the best of the first releases from this new Washington winery. Scents are flush with honey, sweet pineapple and apricot, and the substantial residual sugar (4.6%) is somewhat masked by acids. This is a seductive, graceful wine that would be spectacular with a peach or pineapple dessert, as long as it is not overly sweet.
