Drawn from the Awatere Valley subregion, this is a chunky, full-bodied Pinot Noir. Oak is prominent, in the form of toast, vanilla and graham cracker notes, while the fruit is grapy. This wine shows decent length; the finish is cushioned by soft tannins and is pointed up by tart acids. Drink over the next year or two.
