Usually one of Yarra's top Pinots, the 2006 YS Reserve is a medium-bodied, rounded wine with extremely soft tannic structure. The aromas hint at brown sugar, coffee and cola, with flavors of roasted root vegetables and a touch of mushroom. Supple and silky on the finish. Drink now. || It's slightly lean and hard on the finish, but this entry-level Yarra Valley Pinot does show some pleasant notes of cedar, cola and cherries on the nose and in the mouth. Perhaps a year or two of aging will help soften its edges.
