Aged in oak, this Sangiovese-based red shows ripe, almost jammy aromas of blackberry pie and plum cake. There's a tough, gritty quality to the mouthfeel. || Le Balze is mostly Sangiovese, with small components of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. This vintage opens with beef aromas of bresaola, smoked ham and black pepper. Fruit aromas are almost completely absent.
