Big flavors, lots of body and a smooth, almost thick texture make this a bold wine, yet it also has good underlying acidity to keep it from being heavy. The aroma is quite earthy when first uncorked but that goes away with airing and the buttery and ripe fruit flavors come through and stay lingering on the finish.
