This dessert blend of 66% Zinfandel, 21% Carignane, 8% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre begins with a pruney and alcohol-laden nose, but then peppercorn, clove, Indian spice and plum skin aromas emerge. The palate is tense despite the wine's 11% residual sugar, with dried red and black fruit flavors, spicy acidity and a vanilla finish.
