Veteran vintner Bill Smith delivers solid and often ageworthy Pinot Noirs. With this bottling, he's succeeded again. The well-known Marimar Estate Vineyard has given him superb fruit to work with, and the resulting wine is dry, full bodied and fairly tannic, with deep, brooding cherry, cola, white chocolate and anise flavors. While it's drinkable now, it should gain bottle notes after 2018.
