Give this dramatic young wine a little time in the decanter or the glass to gain its stride. Right out of the bottle, it's tough as nails, but a bit of breathing softens it, bringing out a vast core of sweet black currant. Lots of new oak adds to the sweetness in the form of buttered toast. Should age well, if you're in the mood to cellar it, through 2017 or so.
