Syrah in Washington can assume many shapes; here it shows many elements of the forest floor—dried leaves, moist earth, hints of mushroom. It seems to be locked down at the moment, the green tea tannins forming a shell around the tart fruit. Bound to improve dramatically with further bottle age.
