This is a soft, densely layered Merlot that has a touch of rusticity. The cherry and currant flavors have an oak-inspired edge of smoky, dark chocolate, and the finish is dry. Considering the hefty tannins, it could develop additional bottle complexities for a few years. || There aren't many Merlots coming off Atlas Peak, but there should be, to judge by this rich, dense, complex wine.
