On the nose, this presents itself as borderline overripe, with raisin, prune and licorice aromas. A chunky mouthfeel housing chewy tannins is—based on the bouquet—expected, as are blackberry, raisin and chocolate flavors. A lasting, heavy finish with moderate acidity closes out this ripe, chunky Syrah.
