A gorgeous wine, showing a deft hand of restraint despite evident power. Yes, the alcohol is high and heady, but the wine wears it well, so that heat is only a part of a spectrum of impressions that include refined tannins and rich layers of blackberries, blueberries, crème de cassis liqueur and toast. The finish is dry and elegant. No need to age this beauty, so drink up.
