The vineyard was planted in 1853, so these are some seriously old vines, yielding seriously concentrated fruit. The briary, blackberry fruit is lavished with toasty, vanilla-scented French oak, which melds nicely into a full-bodied, slightly creamy-textured wine that avoids any sensation of warmth or heaviness. Drink now–2030. Frederick Wildman & Sons
