This single-vineyard Zinfandel manages to rein its wild power, taming it down and allowing the wine to feel elegant. That's not so easy, when you have a wine with such high alcohol and superripe fruit. The wild blueberry and blackberry fruit has a brambly edge, but the tannin-acid balance is fine. Drink over the next eight years as the wine subtlely loses fruit and gains earthy complexities.
