An especially chilly vintage in the always-cool Santa Maria Valley has resulted in an intense, young Syrah that is dry, tannic and dramatic. Despite its tightness, the flavors of cherry jam, bacon, cola and black pepper explode deliciously. Extremely low yields in the vineyard give this Syrah a density that will allow it to age for 6–8 years, though with decanting, it's fine to drink now.
