This Navarran blend opens with spicy raspberry and red currant aromas. The palate is sharp, prickly and edgy in feel, with flavors of cherry tomato, herbs and racy red fruits. The hot, scratchy finish can probably best be tamed with food. || Aromas of root beer, autumn leaves, leather and raisins indicate ripeness more than heavyness. It shows lots of life and kick on the palate, where the flavors run toasty and rooty, with a hint of brown sugar. Peppy acidity keeps it lively and traditional through the finish.
