The Umpqua Valley is carving out a reputation for producing many of America's finest Tempranillos. Here's one to add to your list. Plummy, bloody and meaty, it captures the essence of this Spanish grape. The cherry pastry core is cloaked in smoke and dotted with white pepper. The finish has an appealing, softly leathery grip.
