Kalkmergel refers to the chalky marl soils, which are said to yield powerful and mineral wines. This is a wonderfully complex example, with scents of musk, quince and brine all combining easily into a knockout aroma. It's citrusy and fresh, with a long, mouthwatering finish. Drink now–2016, possibly longer.
