Rich, toasty and custardy, this is a big Chardonnay that retains a sense of balance, with a creamy texture and a powerful core of citrusy fruit that comes through on the finish. Based on a couple of older vintages, this wine should last at least 7–8 years from the vintage, but I find them most attractive in their youth. || More elegant and restrained than the bolder 2008, this wine blends understated toast and vanilla with pear and melon flavors before finishing with a flourish of citrus.
